  • Alex Wilson explain the need for the review.
  • The 'Question Time' event.

The review started in May 2008 and was completed on 1 April 2009. All the proposed changes were implemented following extensive consultation with the trade unions and BT employees. These were changes to the BT Pension Scheme, the cessation of employer and employee contributions to the BT Retirement Plan and Syntegra Limited Flexible Pension Plan and the launch of a new defined contribution scheme, the BT Retirement Saving Scheme. All these changes were set out in communications to BT people and are also archived on this website.

Timeline - May: Initial briefing, June-Sept: Consultation with Unions and Trustees, Oct-Nov: Member consultation, Dec-Jan: Communication of review findings
